How to switch from Vela to Everlyst without breaking your shop

Vela is a mature multichannel listing manager. It supports Etsy, Shopify, eBay, and Faire, imports and exports CSV files, schedules listing changes up to 30 days ahead, and offers an AI suite for copy, photos, and listing grades.

That breadth is exactly why some Etsy-only sellers eventually look for a different shape of tool. Everlyst treats Etsy as the entire product and puts diff preview, per-operation snapshots, and performance analytics around the catalog workflow. Decide whether you should switch

Stay with Vela if you publish the same catalog to multiple marketplaces, depend on AI-generated copy or photo work, or need a VA to edit listings without accessing active orders. Everlyst is Etsy-only, deliberately AI-free, and does not offer multi-user access today.

Consider Everlyst if Etsy is your only marketplace and you want every bulk change reviewed before publish, a snapshot behind paid-plan operations, and an Insights suite that connects editing decisions to real sales and payment data.

Price is also different. Vela Lite starts at $19.95/mo per shop, bills monthly, has no annual plan, and offers a 20% multi-shop discount.

Everlyst has a permanent free tier, paid plans from $9/mo, and annual discounts.

Step 1: connect the same Etsy shop

Create an Everlyst account and connect your shop through Etsy OAuth. Everlyst pulls the live catalog directly from Etsy, so there is no Vela export to transform and no migration file to maintain.

Etsy remains the source of truth. Vela and Everlyst are workspaces on top of the same shop data.

Step 2: run both tools in parallel

You do not need to disconnect Vela before testing Everlyst. Both tools authorize independently, so keep Vela available while you confirm the Everlyst catalog and rebuild your daily workflow.

This makes the cutover reversible. Nothing about connecting Everlyst changes your Vela account or removes data from Etsy.

Step 3: rebuild the views you use

Open Vela and Everlyst side by side. Recreate the filters and catalog slices you use most often, such as a seasonal section, low inventory, active listings under a price threshold, or listings approaching expiry.

The aim is not to reproduce every saved habit on day one. Rebuild the three or four working views that drive most of your week.

Step 4: test a small preview-first edit

Select a small set of listings and make a harmless text or price change. Everlyst prepares the operation and shows a row-by-row diff before anything reaches Etsy.

Check the affected listings, confirm the intended fields, and cancel the operation once if you want to prove that review really is a gate. Then repeat and publish the correct change.

This review step is the main workflow difference. Vela can bulk edit, import CSV files, and schedule changes, but it does not provide the same before-and-after diff or snapshot rollback layer.

Step 5: create your first snapshot

Open Backup & Restore and review the snapshot attached to a paid-plan operation. Snapshots preserve the relevant pre-change listing state so the operation can be reversed later if needed.

Vela does not currently offer backup and restore. For shops that run large catalog changes, this is the safety difference that makes experimentation less costly.

Step 6: learn the Insights workflow

Open Sales Analytics to understand revenue and listing performance over time. Use Listing Health to find weak performers, Issue Detection to separate listing-quality problems from sales problems, Dead Stock to identify renewal drag, and Pricing Intelligence to spot internal pricing outliers.

The fee breakdowns come from the observed Etsy payment ledger. Vela does not provide transaction analytics, so this is new information rather than a rearranged version of an existing Vela report.

Step 7: compare scheduling, do not recreate it blindly

Vela already schedules updates and publication up to 30 days ahead. Everlyst also has a scheduling engine. Move only the future changes you actually need, verify their times and fields, and avoid leaving the same campaign active in both products.

Step 8: cancel only after the new rhythm sticks

Run both tools for a week or two. Confirm that catalog edits, snapshots, scheduled work, and analytics are all happening in the intended workspace. Then cancel Vela if you no longer need its multichannel, AI, or team-access strengths.

There is no catalog data trapped in Vela that must be exported first. Etsy remains the source of truth.

When not to cancel Vela
