Connecting your Etsy shop

How to connect Etsy shops to Everlyst

Last updated 2 min read

Quick answer

Connect your first Etsy shop from the dashboard. To add another, open Settings, Shops and follow the guided Etsy sign-out and authorization steps. Switch linked shops from the app header.

Connecting Everlyst to an Etsy shop uses Etsy’s official OAuth flow. You never enter your Etsy password into Everlyst. Etsy handles authentication and gives Everlyst a scoped token to read and update that shop.

Step-by-step

  1. Sign in to Everlyst at app.everlysthq.com. Create an account if you haven’t already (email + password, no credit card required).
  2. From the dashboard, click Connect Etsy shop. You will be redirected to Etsy.
  3. Sign in to Etsy with the account that owns the shop you want to connect.
  4. Review the permissions Etsy shows you. (See What permissions does Everlyst request from Etsy and why for the breakdown.) Click Allow access.
  5. Etsy redirects you back to Everlyst. The initial sync starts automatically.

Connect another Etsy shop

Open Settings, Shops and choose Connect another shop. Etsy’s OAuth flow has no account picker, so beginning a new authorization while you are signed into Etsy can reconnect the same account without asking which account you want.

Everlyst uses two guided steps instead:

  1. Open Etsy’s sign-out page in a new tab and sign out of the current Etsy account.
  2. Return to Everlyst and start authorization. Etsy now asks you to sign in, so you can use the account that owns the next shop.

After the connection and initial sync finish, use the shop switcher in the app header to change the active shop. Your selection persists across page loads. Each linked shop keeps its own plan and subscription.

If you want the shops fully isolated, separate browser profiles or Firefox container tabs remain an option. Keep one Etsy and Everlyst session in each profile or container instead of linking the shops under one Everlyst account.

What to expect during the initial sync

Catalog sizeTypical sync time
Under 100 listingsUnder 1 minute
100–500 listings1–3 minutes
500–2,000 listings3–10 minutes
2,000+ listings10+ minutes (you’ll see live progress)

You can leave the page during the sync - we’ll email you when it’s done. If you stay, the table fills in as listings stream in.

What gets synced

  • All listings (active, draft, inactive, expired, sold-out)
  • Title, description, tags, materials, attributes, category
  • Price, quantity, SKU
  • Section, processing profile, shipping profile, return policy
  • Renewal type (manual vs. automatic), state, creation date, last-modified date
  • Photos and videos (URLs - we don’t re-host them)

What does not sync

  • Buyer messages
  • Order details (Everlyst is a listing tool, not an order manager)
  • Stats older than what Etsy’s API exposes (Etsy limits historical analytics)

Troubleshooting

  • “Authorization failed” - Etsy occasionally times out the redirect. Click Connect Etsy shop again.
  • Sync hangs at 99% - give it five more minutes. If it’s still stuck, see Why a listing won’t sync.
  • Wrong shop connected - disconnect that shop from Settings, Shops, sign out of Etsy in the same browser, then start the connection flow again with the intended Etsy account.
